Mathematics
At Ireby, we believe that being mathematically fluent is a vital skill that every child needs to be successful in life and supports them to achieve our Christian
vision, 'created to do good' Ephesians 2:10. To this
end, our children go on a mathematical journey
that will allow them to gain mastery of this
fantastic subject.

Children across the school are taught skills and
knowledge relevant to their year group. In Key
Stage 2, children are taught in two classes split
as Year 3/4 and Year 5 / 6. This allows us to focus
on the needs of every child.

Our teaching of maths is supported by Hamilton Trust scheme written by Dr Ruth Merttens.
Their excellent resources ensure that skills and concepts are taught in small steps which support the children on their journey.
