Key Stage 2

At Ireby, we have one key Stage 2 class. This means that all children aged 7 to 11 are together in one classroom, with one teacher.

Our curriculum design in Key Stage 2 is based on the requirements of the National Curriculum and builds on the skills and knowledge children learnt in the EYFS and Key Stage 1.

At this stage of their education, our curriculum starts to explore knowledge, skills and concepts which are outside children's immediate experience and supports them to connect more deeply with the world around them.

Below, you will be able to find information on how we plan our curriculum including our approach to reading (including phonics), writing (including grammar), maths and all other subjects across Key Stage 2 and enable us to achieve our vision and ready all our children to be successful in the next stage of their education.
